During London Fashion Week, emerging designer Erica Myat unveiled Antechamber, a collection that explored identity, transformation and the emotional space between who we are and who we aspire to become. Through reconstructed textiles, sculptural silhouettes and thoughtful craftsmanship, the collection reflected a deeply personal approach to contemporary womenswear.
A graduate of Central Saint Martins, Erica Myat founded her London-based label MYAT to create garments that combine craftsmanship with emotional storytelling. Her work draws on personal experience, cultural heritage and artisanal techniques, resulting in collections that feel both contemporary and timeless.
Following her presentation, ARRVL spoke with Erica Myat about the inspiration behind MYAT, the story of Antechamber, and her vision for the future of the brand.

ARRVL: As a designer and graduate of Central Saint Martins, what inspired you to create MYAT, and what is the vision behind the brand?
Erica Myat:
I founded MYAT to create clothing that explores identity and the idea of creating a space for yourself. Growing up between different cultures, I became interested in how clothing can express who we are beneath the surface. My vision is to combine craftsmanship with contemporary womenswear that feels both emotional and unaffected by time.
ARRVL: Your London Fashion Week presentation made a strong impression. What story or message were you hoping to communicate through this collection?
Erica Myat:
The collection, Antechamber, explored the space between who we are and who we hope to become. Through reconstructed textiles and contrasting materials, I wanted to capture themes of vulnerability, transformation and self-discovery.
ARRVL: Every designer has influences that shape their work. Which experiences, cultures or creative disciplines have had the greatest impact on your design approach?
Erica Myat:
My work is shaped by my Burmese heritage, my experience growing up between cultures, and my interest in craftsmanship. I’m drawn to preserving handmade skills and creating work that carries meaning and the human touch. Every collection begins with an emotion or personal experience; I create as a response to the things I have lived through.
ARRVL: Building an independent fashion brand is challenging. What has been the most important lesson you have learned since launching MYAT?

Erica Myat:
I’ve learned that creativity and business have to grow together. Staying true to your perspective while building something commercially sustainable is challenging, but authenticity is what gives a brand its identity.
ARRVL: Looking ahead, what are your ambitions for the brand, and what can audiences expect from MYAT in the future?
Erica Myat:
I hope to continue growing MYAT internationally while refining both ready-to-wear and demi-couture.Future collections will continue exploring identity, craftsmanship and contemporary femininity, while expanding the brand into new creative categories over time.
